Thanks so much for sending me questions on my instagram story the other day, a great push to start the new blog. Didn’t plan to start all new, but it really feels like the right way to do it. Have been going through a lot in my private life, hence the non blogging. Been writing a blog since before it was called blog, started in 1998, with very few breaks. So let’s go for the Q&A and I will ramble more about what’s been going on later if you’d be interested to hear.
What are some other German cities worth visiting?
Hamburg is great! Whereas Berlin feels like a crazy experiment, a teenager searching for its identity, Hamburg is the more stable big city of Germany. Don’t forget that it has a harbour, which means fresh fish and seafood. Gotta go visit again soon.
If you could pick any place/country for a vacation just now where would it be?
Anywhere together with Johan, just the two of us. We haven’t done that since 2013. The plan is to visit the second largest cities in different countries, cause they usually things that appeal both of us (Gothenburg was great to live in!). Marseilles would be nice, Porto as well. Maybe start with Cracow?
Which woman or women inspire you the most?
Women who don’t identify themselves as being someone’s wife and/or mother. When women present themselves (online/offline) as X’s wife and/or “mother of 1/2/3”, I always wonder who this woman is on her own. The miss Universe candidate in me would answer this question with my mother.
What language do you usually use? English, German, Swedish in a mix?
I use English with most of my friends since they are from everywhere.
Swedish at home with Johan, and with other Swedes of course.
I speak German when I have to, the other week I did the whole psycho-therapy in German without thinking about it, so I’d say I’m doing pretty well.
How’s the weather in Berlin? Going tomorrow and not sure what to pack!
Bring comfy shoes that don’t let water in, Berlin is very windy at the moment, so a warm jacket is highly recommended.
What makes you genuinely happy? So happy that your heart jumps?
If you had to pick your top 5 plants, what would they be?
Norfolk Island pine.
Most herb plants.
Do you miss living in Sweden?
No, I don’t feel at home in Sweden at all – a majority of the swedes are too afraid of what other people think of them. It’s a lot of facade and insecurity over there, people stress about being the first to discover everything, which is in the culture and makes me feel uncomfortable. Berlin is fucked up, but it’s honest. It’s OK to be who you are here.
