I went to the doc’s office to get a new prescription, increased my dose again and I think I’ve found the right amount now. Dinner was leftovers from the weekend, Johan had made a salsiccia stew which I added canned tomatos to and we had it with tagliatelle and a creamy french cheese, which I don’t remember the name of. Was super delicious.
Wool, so calming. I have taken a break from crochet now, though. Need to do other stuff. Monday evening’s walk through the hood together with my best friend (you know who he is). The light, right?
On Tuesday morning, I couldn’t wake up – must have been the meds. Johan gave me coffee and then I was fit for fight again and took a walk.
Back home again, I had the same food as dinner the previous day but with pecorino instead of the french cheese on top.
And this dinner, simple salad with tomatos, mozzarella, basil and some italian olives. Olive oil & balsamico. In the evening, I went got a text message from Johan I’m at Alex now, come meet me at Warschauer! Was so exotic after 2 months of not using the public transport.
Johan’s new shoes, love them! And a great record sleeve.
Woke up on Thursday feeling massively inspired and went to the art store and bought gouache, brushes, paper etc. Time to start painting again, at least try.
Lunch was tagliatelle with mushrooms and pecorino.
These buttcrack characters are available in the shop. Thursday evening, we took a walk having a beer. This Späti at Boxhagener Strasse is one of my favourites. Then hunger struck and…
…we bought a pizza to share. Was laughing when we opened it and realised we had ordered a pizza without cheese. It was still amazing, the tomato sauce and the fish really popped out. Yum. The TV tower was our pizza view.
On Friday, I took a walk all the way down to Reichenberger Strasse to buy spicy noodles from Chungking Noodles to bring home, super delicious. Had been craving carrot cake like a maniac, so when I saw one in the window of a café in Falckensteinstrasse, it was in my mouth after just a few seconds. Had a very strange night the night before, so we both fell asleep in front of a documentary about the Kennedy family.
Saturday morning, I was off to Boxi to get some cheese & salsiccia from my favourite italian stand.
The bars have opened up for take away (not all of them, but for example our friends at Badfish), so after 2.5 months without proper Guinness, it was time. Then we headed over to Andrew and he served us some risotto with spinach, pesto and lots of olive oil. Delish! Sunday morning I threw this no knead bread into the oven.
Lunch was breakfast food and snack was miso soup with noodles, seaweed and spring onion.
Elvis sent me a picture of him rolling around in the snow, they still have some snow up there – crazy. Yesterday’s dinner was the same as last weekend, salsiccia stew with bucatini piccoli this time. And pecorino pepe from the market. It was a good and partly strange week, spent a little too much money on food, so this week will be all about cooking at home. Same the next weeks, I need to get into my routines again. Started this morning with yoga after skipping it for four days. Reading Drive your Plow over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk right now, am half way now and it’s really good. What are you reading? Are you a reader?
