I’m so happy I decided to go visit my family in February instead of during Easter, you know why. Virus. I had a flight at 2.20am and realised there was time for an early lunch with my mum and sister before heading to the airport. First, let’s look at a few more old buildings from Luleå.

This used to be pink, looked so much better, especially in Winter.

Look at that building to the left, love the shape of the roof. Does anyone know what it’s called? I have forgotten completely from my art history studies.

Sister and mum, people sometimes laugh when they see us together cause we look so much alike. I’ve had people shouting my sister’s name on the streets of Luleå and mum has been like It’s not Lisette, it’s Sandra! It’s fun to walk the main street with those two, because we always meet people they know which I haven’t seen for ages.

My mum had a tasty mushroom paste pasta with ricotta and nuts.

And my sister & I had fish soup. Everything so tasty, I always eat as much fish as I can when I visit up there. This was our last time spent together in who-knows-how-much-long-time. The plan was to go visit during midsummer, but no no no. Sometimes I can’t grasp how much we love eachother, mum and I talk almost every day on facetime. Can’t imagine what it would be like to live this far away without internet, there would probably be lots of good old letter writing. Do you live close to the ones you love? I left Luleå in 1999, so been living far away from them for half of my life now.
Enjoy your Sunday wherever you are. Writing that made curious, where are you?
Talk soon!

May 24, 2020 at 9:27 amHey Sandra, the shape of the building on the left is called a ‘trapgevel’ here in Holland. Trap meaning steps/staircase. Have a great Sunday!
