Week 21 through the phone

Last week through the phone’s camera, do you like these posts? I’m going to start bringing the DSLR out more again, is there anything you would like to see more/less of? Let me know, I think it’s easier and more fun to blog if I know what you guys like.

Monday started with going to the supermarket, I prefer to go very early in the morning as it is much less people in the store. This goes for pre Corona as well, those of you who also have an introverted nature probably know what it’s like.

Johan, love his new shoes. The kitchen in the evening, we had lasagna for dinner and it was delicious. It’s this good old recipe which I’ve been using since I was half the age I am now.

Tuesday’s morning walk.

The first coffee in a café after lockdown, together with my dear friend Tenia. So glad they are open again. We hung out in the café’s courtyard after a walk around the neighbourhood.

All of a sudden it was Friday and we went out for some Guinness with our friend Johann.

Late dinner from Oase on Warschauer Strasse was needed after drinking a bit too many Guinnesses. Now it’s alcohol break for me. Going to put myself in lockdown again and start new projects – focus and routine is what I really need for a while as well as healthier food – been so tired lately and inefficient. OK enough about that, look at the roses I saw on my way to Boxi on Saturday morning.

Bought my favourite olives from the Italian stand, they have so many delicious cheeses, sandwiches, oils etc etc.

Had a very slow day at home the rest of the day and enjoyed the storm in the evening, reading 2 books.

Beautiful light and hello favourite building in the city; the TV tower. If I lean out from my balcony, this is what I see. Didn’t know when we decided to take this apartment. We got the keys, bought kebab and beer which we had on the balcony, on a freezing cold January day and BAM we saw the tower, wow.

He-Man is all ready to hit the clubs as soon as they open. Bought him for Johan in 2016 after he had been taking care of a completely depressed Sandra in very dark places. Now he looks like a lion with his long hair. We went to our friends’ place Tucker yesterday for brunch. Johan made the logo, we designed their menus together and I took some pictures for them.

Finally a delicious oat flat white and the first food somewhere else than home or on the street since almost 3 months.

After food it was time for dessert, so we headed over to Happy Baristas (Johan made the logo for them as well). More tasty flat whites and seriously the tastiest cake I ever had – lemon cheesecake. From now on I am a cake monogamist.

Have a nice week, xo

You know, Sandra, I like these walk posts so much. I’ve only been to Berlin one time, I hope I can come again one day (when things are closer to normal), but in the meantime I always feel as if I have been there with your walk posts. I love street markets! You can post those any time!

And the “historic” posts are fun too because I love to see Sweden where I’ve never been, and I know right now you can’t travel there either. I’ve been following you for ages! I’m not much of a commenter but I want you to know I really appreciate what you share.

Hey Sandra, I love these little weekly summaries of what you’ve seen through your iphone, but I also love your long photo walks around Berlin with your DSLR. Great to have the variety of both posts in my opinion, but just shoot what you enjoy! Love your writing too and hearing little snippets of life in Berlin. x

Thank you, Sarah. I like the mix too, the pictures come out so differently. I only use a 50mm lens with my DSLR so everything is much “closer” to the camera.

Hi Sandra from another Charlotte K (I promise a different one!) Love your Swedish pictures and your Berlin pics too Sandra! Have been a reader of yours for 10 years I reckon. From London, then America (east coast), then York UK, now London where I am spending lockdown. Almost every time I go for a walk in my different cities I think, “what would Sandra find interesting in this building or view?”, so for me it’s the architectural details I love. Long walk, short walk, you always take great pictures. Do keep filling my mind with them please!

Aw thanks so much, Charlotte! Great to hear you’ve lived in so many different places – I would really need to go somewhere else to capture new things. Oh wait, I don’t think I have posted that many pictures from when I went to Sardinia 🙂 Thanks for visiting and saying hi <3
