Week 37 through the phone

Uh oh! Hi there! How was your weekend? Mine was great, went to my friend Allison’s birthday party and had a very slow and nice recovery. Let’s have a look again at pictures from when I was younger, a few weeks ago.

We went to Ritrovo for pizza and none of us was satisfied from sharing one, which we usually are, so we ordered a second one.

I had given myself a deadline to finish the new designs for the new Wrist Worms visual stuff and of course I didn’t respect my own deadline. Met up with Fiona and Peps for donuts instead.

In the evening, Johan and I decided to have proper German dinner (Rahmspätzle & Wienerwürstchen mit Kartoffelsalat) before I went to Sweden.

Me at Arlanda airport. Do you see the vagina island in the picture to the right? This was when I was about to land in Sweden, I cried.

Elvis was pretty goddamn happy to see me and Thomas had bought sushi as a welcome gift.

My mother got time off from work the whole time I was there, so on Thursday we went to town to browse the stores and have a light lunch at Hemmagastronomi. It said potatoes on the menu and when we got the food, the potatoes were FRIES. Not OK. I ate them anyway. The cod was AMAZING.

Back home, Elvis was waiting for me. Mum and I harvested some potatoes, which we didn’t deep fry.

My sister came to pick me up for a little trip to Kvantum (supermarket) and then back to mum to eat shrimps and other delicious things.

This is Elvis asking for cinnamon roll, he’s acting like a junkie around them. Mum and I went on a roadtrip to Tornedalen to have pizza, go into abandoned houses, have fika at my aunt, visiting dead relatives at the cemetery (there are more dead ones than live ones). I got more pictures to share.

Wallpapers from an abandoned house.

Didn’t see any reindeers this time, so I became one. In the evening we were back home and shared a bottle of sparkling wine in the sauna.

Saturday, my sister, nieces and Jens picked me up to go visit dad and his new girlfriend. We started with a barbeque and then went to her summerhouse for more fun.

Sunday, I was hungover and Elvis was again begging for cinnamon roll. Every morning. Had pizza with my childhood friend Anna, her son, my mum and nieces. Delish!

We went to another abandoned building to check it out.

In the evening we took a walk with Elvis. He’s the best. His eyesight is pretty bad, his hearing is pretty bad, but his nose knows everything that’s going on. I just want to jump on a plane again when I see these pictures.

Vilken fin tid du hade i Sverige!

greetings, Sandra – been a while since I’ve dropped you a line.. I always read your blogs, but recently have been hindered by broken technology! love the amazingly characterful living room decoration! And all your photos, as usual!! Beautiful to see the rural bits, too..Perfumed spring air and gentle temperatures here in Australia are crying out to be enjoyed, but we still have quite a few restrictions because of the old you-know-what.

    Dear Sandra,

It’s been ages since I came here. Oh, how I missed it! Time to get the wrist worms out soon.

You are always such an inspiration. :-))

Did you cry landing in Arlanda because you miss Sweden, I wondered…?

I also wonder what it must be like in Berlin right now. We live in Mainz near Frankfurt, it is probably similar, less people. Same virus.

You (yes!) and someone else – and mostly our daughter who so wanted one – inspired us to get a dog! One of the best things that ever happened! So lovely.

I hope you and Johan keep well. Am an introvert, too.

    Best,
    Joanne

      Hi Joanne!
      Welcome back 🙂
Thanks for your sweet words, they mean a lot.
I cried landing in my old hometown because I knew I would meet my family in only a few minutes. I see now that I wrote it a bit confusing, Stockholm wouldn’t make me cry haha 😉
I’m so happy to hear about the dog!! Congratulations to you all <3

Since yesterday we have some kind of lockdown light again - no alcohol can be sold between 23-06 which means all bars, restaurants and shops are closed during these hours.

      Stay well!
      S x
